I have been studying music for more than twenty years.
The saxophone came into my life when I was thirteen, followed a few years later by the clarinet and flute.
I began my music career and education in Estonia where I majored in classical saxophone under the guidance of Alexander Rjabov, a renowned Estonian musician.
After moving to Canada, I continued my music studies at Capilano University where I completed the Jazz Music Program in 2007. I was fortunate to study with Stan Karp, who is very well-known saxophone teacher in Greater Vancouver. I continue studying with Stan Karp who has become my mentor in saxophone and jazz.
I
have taught at several music schools across the Greater Vancouver area,
including the Mozart School of Music (located in Burnaby), Creativ (North Vancouver), the British Columbia
Conservatory of Music (Burnaby) and Lynn Valley Music
School in North Vancouver. Currently I have concentrated on teaching privately, from my studio in Burnaby (SFU), which is located just minutes away from Lougheed Mall, and with easy access to public transit (click here for the map).
I have been an active member of Russian Music Teachers Association
(RMTA) since 2008. To find out more about this association and its
contribution to music in Vancouver click here. |
